It was one year ago that eKartingNews.ca first sat down with karting icon Mike Wilson at the 2009 Canadian Nationals held at Goodwood Kartways. Now 12 months later we catch up with Mike at the 2010 Canadian Nationals here at Mont Tremblant. A lot has gone on in one year including a major health scare. As reported by EKN.com, on Thursday, September 3, Wilson was set to work with Mini Max driver ...

Lots of changes at the top of the Rankings as the eight of the top ten move around. There are 118 drivers showing one or more starts two up from June that that had 116. Writing from the 2010 Canadian Tire ASN Canada FIA Canadian Nationals in beautiful Mont Tremblant where nearly 190 Rotax racers will look to be Canadian Champion, you can’t help but excited about the karting here in Canada.

Hugo Ouellette (CRG) stills holds onto number one spot while Marco DiLeo (Intrepid), former ...

The DD2 rankings grew in July with 75 drivers showing two more starts, up from 71 in June. The DD2 Rankings is a mix of both DD2 and DD2 Masters as most races run the two groups as one. With DD2 Masters now a separate class at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, look for this class to grow in 2011 as many veterans drivers look for their shot at the big show. Taking the first DD2 Masters seat for Team Canada is Scott Campbell who makes his seventh appearance at the annual ...

The Junior Report for July is the start of some big moves in the rankings as new drivers get over the critical five starts mark and many of the drivers now in Senior begin to drop off the list. July saw nine ranked events added and was book-ended by the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship event at Shannonville that is the first and last ranked event on the listing. A total of 89 drivers showed two or more starts in July, down from 97 in June. A total of 30 ranked events where ...

Like the Junior Max and DD2 Max June Ranking Reports, there are no real major changes in the top of the Senior Max Rankings. June seems to shaping up as the quiet before the storm in terms of drivers shuffling up the order. Drivers in the Western Canadian Challenge have only logged one weekend of racing in the standings thus far in 2010. With Saskatoon in as July event and Edmonton hitting the July report as well, look for the west coast racers to make some noise. Runners in the ...

In the Rotax DD2 June Report, most of the drivers are holding their own in the top ten positions. Rotax DD2 continues to grow and with the addition of Masters to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals it will keep this class growing. In the June Ranking Report there were a total of 71 drivers taking two or more starts, while in the May Report that number was 64. That’s a 10% increase in drivers running more than one race at the regional level in the two-speed class. Look to see big ...

The June Junior Rotax Report will see no major changes in the top ten. What could have been month of big moves has become a month of holding steady. June was originally to have five ranked events, but with the moving of the Eastern Canadian Karting Challenge round from SRA Karting to Mont Tremblant in early August, June was more of a trade off, then anything. A total of 97 drivers took at least two starts over the past 12 months. Highest scoring event added in June was the SRA Karting ...

Many always seem to refer to Canada as the great white north. When someone says Canada we tend to think of snow and ice and frigid temperatures and frozen tundra. Extending south from the north shore at the west end of Lake Erie is Canada’s southern most tip, Point Pelee. As Canada’s most southern reach, Point Pelee and the surrounding region is an important landmark both in stature and symbolism as it almost ...
